CHARLOTTE, NC—Officials of Everwood Hospitality Partners (EHP), a leading hotel owner/operator with a growing portfolio of lifestyle, full- and select-service hotels nationwide, today announced the company has named Tracy Kundey managing director of hospitality.  In this new role, he will be responsible for developing and executing EHP’s business strategies as they relate to asset maximization.

“Tracy has honed a well-balanced leadership style through his years in both the public and private hospitality sectors.  He played an integral role in growing smaller, private entities into some of the industry’s largest and most respected public hospitality companies today,” said Amit Patel, managing principal and chief operating officer, Everwood Hospitality Partners.  “He has served at virtually all levels in the industry, from night auditor at a small hotel during college through leadership roles at U.S. and international hospitality companies.  We are confident Tracy will help us achieve our growth goals as EHP continues to expand across the country.”

Previously, Kundey was COO/CFO for Chandler Hotels, Inc., where he oversaw daily property and owner interactions, including communications and revenue management contributions.  A forty-year career brings experience from having held numerous corporate leadership positions, such as president of Oceana Resorts, president of Encore Enterprises – Hospitality Division and partner/vice-president of finance at Hersha Hospitality, among others.  He has provided operations oversight to projects totaling $683 million, including free standing restaurants, new construction, brand conversions and extensive PIP projects primarily with Marriott and Hilton brands.  He has received multiple industry accreditations, including Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA); Certified Rooms Division Executive (CRDE); and Certified Food & Beverage Executive (CFBE) the Educational Institute of American Hotel & Motel Association.  Kundey served on the North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce/CVB Board of Directors; the State of South Carolina Chamber of Commerce/CVB Board of Directors; and the Customer Advisory Board with HomeAway.  He received his bachelor’s in business administration from Eastern Washington University

“I welcome the opportunity to help motivated hospitality organizations expand their portfolios,” Kundey said.  “From Hersha Hospitality Trust to Encore Enterprises, I’ve enjoyed getting in at the ground level and helping to build something bigger and better than it was originally.  I respect Everwood’s entrepreneurial spirit, unique approach to hospitality leveraging technology, talent and robust financial investment team.  I look forward to progressing together.”
