St. Thomas Resorts Expand Leadership Team

ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands — Buoy Haus Beach Resort St. Thomas and The Westin St. Thomas Beach Resort have expanded their leadership team with three appointments.

Carlos Macias has been named general manager of The Westin St. Thomas. He most recently served as hotel general manager at Nobu Hotel Miami Beach and previously led LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort in Naples, Fla.

Joan Hernández has joined Buoy Haus as executive chef, overseeing Salt Shack and Sugarfin. His previous experience includes Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, and St. Regis Bahia Beach.

Mea Leech has been named complex beverage director for both resorts. She brings nearly two decades of experience developing hotel beverage programs and consulting on boutique openings in Dubai, Singapore and Cambodia.
