Red Roof to Open First Canadian Hotel in Vancouver Area
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Red Roof has announced the company will enter the Canadian market with the July opening of Red Roof PLUS+ Vancouver Airport in Richmond, British Columbia.
The company is partnering with Richmond Airport Enterprises Ltd. to convert the former Travelodge Hotel by Wyndham Vancouver Airport into the Red Roof PLUS+ property. Presales are now open for stays beginning July 1.
The 160-room hotel is located at 3071 St. Edwards Drive, near Vancouver International Airport, Richmond Hospital and River Rock Casino Resort. The property is undergoing renovations and will include a 24-hour business center, upgraded 24-hour fitness facility, hot tub, indoor pool and on-site parking that can accommodate trucks, buses and motor coaches.
Red Roof President Zack Gharib said the company sees Vancouver as a strong entry point for its Canadian expansion.

Gharib said Canada’s lodging sector continues to show strong fundamentals, and Vancouver has been a leader in hotel performance growth.

Guest rooms will include microwaves, mini-fridges, irons and ironing boards, hair dryers, desks, in-room safes, 65-inch cable TVs, alarm clocks/radios, free local and long-distance calls within Canada, free high-speed Wi-Fi and lounge chairs.
Red Roof PLUS+ is Red Roof’s upscale economy brand, offering upgraded rooms and amenities at a value price. Red Roof’s portfolio includes Red Roof Inn, Red Roof PLUS+, HomeTowne Studios by Red Roof, The Red Collection and dual-branded properties.
