- The 72,000+ sq. ft. facility will ship next-day to the South Central U.S., as far west as the New Mexico border and as far north as Oklahoma and Arkansas
Building a distribution center is much more than merely finding a space, filling it with product and waiting for the orders to role in. To Häfele America Co., one of America’s leading suppliers of furniture and architectural hardware components, it’s also about people — both those tasked with operating the facility and those customers who will benefit from the company’s all-new Dallas, TX-area facility.
“Texas has traditionally been a very strong market for Häfele and the various industries we serve,” said Paul K. Smith, president of Häfele America Co. “This facility means that Häfele products will arrive to shops, job sites and beyond in a quicker, more efficient manner. Our stellar group of Dallas-area employees are excited to make this happen.”
The nearly 73,000 sq. ft. warehouse will add more than 10 local employment positions to the area with additional staffing growth planned in the coming months. The facility features warehouse space as well as a complement of customer service associates who handle Häfele orders nationwide. The warehouse itself has already begun offering next-day order delivery — a new standard within the hardware industry.
“This location is perfectly positioned to serve our customers throughout the South Central U.S. and beyond,” said Jed Kilpatrick, director of operations and supply chain of Häfele America Co. “The addition of this facility to our distribution network means that all Häfele customers will benefit from inventories which are designed to best meet the needs of them as well as their customers.”
Incorporating the newest available technologies and techniques in warehouse and inventory management, the space will feature custom, narrow aisles and high storage to maximize all available space. The addition of the latest forklifts and conveyor technology will further increase efficiency and throughput.
