Culinary Leadership News: Guido Ojeda Becomes Executive Chef at Kimpton Grand Roatán

Roatán, Honduras Bay Islands — Kimpton Grand Roatán Resort & Spa, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury and lifestyle portfolio, announces today the appointment of Guido Ojeda as Executive Chef. A culinary visionary with a global perspective, Chef Ojeda will oversee all of the resort’s four distinctive dining concepts.

An Argentine chef with over 20 years of culinary mastery, Ojeda has made his mark in top-tier international hotels and restaurants around the world. His commitment to innovation and excellence has earned him Michelin recognition for two consecutive years, cementing his place as a dynamic force in the gastronomic world. From Oman, Uruguay, Spain, Dubai, and his native Argentina, Ojeda has led kitchens of renowned establishments such as El Bulli hotel-Hacienda Benazuza, The Grand Hotel Punta del Este, W Muscat, The Westin Dubai-Mina Seyahi Beach Resort, and most recently, the Edition Hotel in Iceland. Known for his culinary skills and dedication to sustainability, Ojeda led TIDES Restaurant to earn the prestigious Green Key Certification for its eco-friendly operations, as well as become a Michelin Recommended restaurant in 2024. His unwavering passion for the culinary arts and talent for managing large-scale operations have elevated dining experiences to new heights at renowned properties around the world, an expertise he now brings to Roatán.

As Executive Chef of Kimpton Grand Roatán Resort & Spa, Ojeda will lead the menu concept and execution of the resort’s four dining outlets, in addition to overseeing the overall management of the resort’s culinary teams. Alera, the hotel’s signature restaurant, offers a farm-to-table dining experience featuring coastal Mediterranean cuisine with a focus on locally sourced ingredients, while Vos Café & Bar provides guests with fast-casual, island-inspired cuisine, including fresh pastries, grab-and-go items, and a lively bar atmosphere in the evening. Sea Cat, the oceanfront beach bar, serves California-inspired classics like fish tacos and ceviche, along with refreshing drinks, in a relaxed setting with stunning ocean views and The Drop Off, located at the south end of the beach, offers a unique island experience with a menu of fresh, wood-fired seafood, tiki drinks, live music, and nightly performances.
