HONOLULU, HI. – Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa announced Wednesday the appointment of three new team leaders – Jon Itoga as hotel manager, Tiare Tipoti as director of event management and Brittney Woods-Clark as director of training.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jon Itoga, Tiare Tipoti and Brittney Woods-Clark to our Waikiki Beach Marriott ohana,” said Jerry Gibson, general manager of Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa. “Each with their own unique expertise, these three strategic hires will be undeniable assets to our team. We look forward to watching Jon, Tiare and Brittney thrive in their new roles.”

Itoga is a seasoned professional with more than 10 years experience in the hospitality industry, according to a press release. In his new role, Itoga will be charged with overseeing the operations, events, and food and beverage teams, ensuring that all facets of the resort work together smoothly and efficiently to deliver a quality guest experience. Most recently, Itoga served as AVP of operational finance for Marriott Vacation Worldwide Aqua-Aston, working closely with 15 properties in Hawaii to achieve improved financial returns. Prior, Itoga was the director of finance for the celebrated Turtle Bay Resort, where he focused on new labor productivity efficiencies that led to over $1 million in savings. Since 2016, Itoga has lectured at University of Hawaii on subjects such as hospitality accounting, food services management, statistics for decision making, and strategic management.

Tipoti is in charge of the planning and execution of events at Waikiki Beach Marriott. Previously, Tipoti held the position of director of sales and marketing for event rental company Accel Events & Tents, responsible for driving sales across Oahu and Maui. Tipoti started her career at Turtle Bay Resort where she spent more than 15 years, growing from conference concierge into positions such as conference service manager and banquet manager before being promoted to director of catering and convention services and assistant director of food and beverage.

Woods-Clark will oversee training at both Waikiki Beach Marriott and Waikoloa Beach Marriott. After launching her career with Starwood Hotels as a human resources coordinator, Woods-Clark then joined Price Hotels & Resorts as corporate human resources trainer, developing her niche focus on training. She comes to Waikiki Beach Marriott from The Waikiki Collection: The Royal Hawaiian, Sheraton Waikiki, Sheraton Princess Kaiulani and the Moana Surfrider, Westin where she held the position of complex training manager.
