Catherine Hance Joins Mission Hill Hospitality as General Counsel

January 31, 2023

Mission Hill Hospitality, a leading select service and extended stay hotel investor, announced that Catherine Hance has joined the firm as General Counsel. Mission Hill was launched in March 2021 and has built a high-quality portfolio of 26 well-located select service and extended stay hotels, particularly in markets driven by education, medical, corporate and year-round leisure demand.

“The addition of Catherine to our team will be instrumental to Mission Hill’s continued growth,” said Greg Kennealey, CEO of Mission Hill Hospitality. “She brings a depth of legal experience, particularly in hospitality, real estate, finance and acquisitions. In this newly created role, Catherine will oversee and manage Mission Hill’s legal matters and play an active role in portfolio development and management.”

Hance joins Mission Hill from Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP in Denver, where she was a partner in the firm’s real estate group for over 20 years. Her practice covered all areas of real estate transactions, including real property acquisition and disposition, development, leasing, financing, and land use development and zoning, as well as formation of entities for real estate development and investment, with a particular focus on hospitality-related transactions. She represented clients in the acquisition, financing, development, and disposition of hotel properties across the U.S., including negotiation of hotel management agreement, franchise, construction and other related agreements. She was named a partner in the firm after serving as an associate for four years. She began her legal career at Frascona Joiner & Goodman P.C. in Boulder.

Hance is a member of the American, Denver, and Colorado Women’s Bar Associations. She is a past chair of the Colorado Bar Association’s Real Estate Section Council, and currently serves on the Colorado Bar Association’s Title Standards Committee. She is a current member of the board of trustees of Mile High United Way, having served as chair of the board from 2020-2022. Catherine also served as a Mayoral Trustee for the board of trustees of the Denver Botanic Gardens for six years. She is ranked by Chambers USA in the areas of hotel and leisure and real estate, and also recognized by Best Lawyers (Woodward/White, Inc.) and Colorado Super Lawyers. She is a frequent speaker on real estate and hospitality topics at industry seminars and events.

Catherine earned a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, and a B.A. in History from the College of William & Mary.
