AJS Hotels Appoints Michael Swasey as Senior Vice President of Operations

LOUISVILLE, KY. – AJS Hotels announced Thursday the appointment of Michael Swasey as Senior Vice President of Operations. Swasey joins AJS Hotels with three decades of hospitality industry experience, according to a press release.

Swasey will work in tandem with various teams to manage multi-site operations and streamline guest experiences. In his new role, Swasey will oversee all aspects of day-to-day financial and operational functions, implementing strategic sales and marketing initiatives while executing numerous large-scale events and conferences across the company’s portfolio of Louisville hotels. Prior to joining AJS Hotels, Swasey most recently served as Senior Vice President of Operations for Crescent Hotels & Resorts, where he oversaw a portfolio of premier branded and independent resorts and hotels across Florida and Atlanta, Georgia.

With a career spanning over 30 years in the hotel industry, Swasey has also held multiple senior leadership and operational roles across the United States. Swasey served as Chief Operating Officer for Marcus Hotels & Resorts in Milwaukee, WI, and Head of Operations and Asset Management for Alena Hospitality in Orlando, FL. He has also held the position of Vice President of Asset Management for Inland American Lodging Management, L.L.C. (now Xenia REIT) in Orlando, FL. Additionally, Swasey has gained invaluable experience in operations roles with renowned hospitality companies such as B.F. Saul Company Hospitality Group, Legacy Hospitality, Inc., InterContinental Hotel Group, and Sage Hospitality.

Swasey holds a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, as well as a Master’s degree from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. He is bilingual in English and Spanish and has actively contributed to the industry and surrounding community through his involvement in various committees and associations, including the Committee for Dulles, American Hotel & Lodging Association Food & Beverage Committee, and Hospitality Asset Managers Association. Swasey impacted his community by serving as a representative for the United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County.
