August 31, 2023
Remington Hospitality announced last week its agreement to oversee operations at Murrieta Hot Springs Resort. Situated on 46 acres in Southern California, the property is undergoing an extensive restoration with plans to reopen this winter as a hot springs health and wellness resort, according to a press release.
“We’re thrilled to add Murrieta Hot Springs Resort to our portfolio, particularly as we continue to see an increased interest among consumers in wellness travel,” says Sloan Dean, CEO at Remington Hospitality. “The reimagined Murrieta Hot Springs Resort will provide guests with luxurious accommodations and elevated amenities aimed at whole-body restoration and rejuvenation. Our ultimate goal is to bestow take-home knowledge that ensures the revitalizing benefits last beyond their stay.”
Established in 1902, Murrieta Hot Springs Resort was once deemed California’s Greatest Health Resort during the mid-1900s. In 1995 it was converted into a Christian conference retreat center and Bible College Campus. In 2022, Olympus Real Estate Group, which owns The Springs Resort, in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, purchased the property to restore it to prominence as a destination health resort.
With 174 rooms, guests of the renovated resort will have access to the 60+ natural hot spring pools and water features, a full suite of wellness-oriented amenities, fitness classes and activities, meeting spaces, and a geothermal-focused spa complete with mineral soak pools and contrast circuits both indoors and out. The reimagined spa will also offer therapeutic massages, terra thermal mud treatments, a rooftop sun deck, hot and dry saunas, contrast bathing, and sound baths. Additionally, guests can partake in guided meditation, mindfulness classes, roll and recovery classes, cold plunges, walking and hiking trails, water aerobics, gratitude ceremonies, and yoga.
To complement its wellness offerings, the hotel will feature an array of dining choices for an elevated nutritional experience, including access to a poolside café, gazebo bar, coffee shop, restaurant, wine bar, and lounge bar. Each of the Murrieta Hot Spring Resort’s food and beverage venues will invite guests to explore opportunities to expand their palates and nutritional understanding.
“We are excited to unveil the revitalized Murrieta Hot Springs Resort. With its rich history and extensive restoration, this iconic Southern California destination is poised to become North America’s premier hot springs health and wellness resort,” said David Dronet, owner of Olympus Real Estate Group. “Our intention is to preserve the property’s character while infusing it with modern amenities and health focused offerings. We’re excited to welcome guests to this one-of-a-kind experience.”
