Nicholas Untermann Named Resort Manager of Terranea Resort

RANCHO PALOS VERDES, CALIFORNIA. – Terranea Resort – a luxury 102-acre oceanfront resort on the Palos Verdes Peninsula – has named Nicholas Untermann resort manager, the hotel announced Tuesday. Untermann is charged with overseeing all aspects of the resort, including front desk, concierge, valet and housekeeping operations as well as the spa, retail and nine dining venues, according to a press release. He will assist with employee training and coaching, as well as supervise experiential activities throughout the resort, including ocean, land, and art adventures.

According to Ralph Grippo, president of Terranea, Untermann has worked at high-profile properties throughout Central and Southern California including Ojai Valley Inn and Bacara Resort & Spa, an ultra-luxury property in Santa Barbara.

“Nicholas has an excellent track record in many facets of hotel management – from housekeeping to rooms to front desk management,” Grippo said. “He is the right professional to oversee day-to-day hotel operations as we work to further establish Terranea as Southern California’s premier oceanfront destination resort.”

With more than 10 years of experience in the luxury hotel arena, Untermann has additionally worked in managerial roles at hotels such as the Beverly Wilshire, a Four Seasons Hotel and L’Auberge Del Mar and served as director of beach village operations at the historic Hotel del Coronado.

Untermann holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Arizona’s Prescott College.
