The Federal Opens In Brunswick, ME

March 11, 2022

BRUNSWICK, ME–In its debut project, Principal Hospitality announces the opening of The Federal in Brunswick, Maine. Situated on the storied site of what was formerly The Daniel and Captain Daniel Stone Inn, originally constructed in 1810, The Federal will also be home to an on-site destination restaurant scheduled to open in the coming months. The newly reimagined hotel and restaurant are located in the heart of downtown Brunswick. Halfway between Portland and Boothbay Harbor and just off Route 1, The Federal offers close proximity to Bowdoin College and is the perfect stop for those exploring mid-coast Maine.

Boasting a two-level mezzanine lobby and 30 guest rooms split among two buildings, The Federal features four premium suites within the Federal House, formerly the residence of Captain Daniel Stone. The larger of the two buildings, the East Wing,  comprises king and queen-sized rooms. In addition, The Federal offers two meeting rooms, The Anchor, hosting 50, and The Chart Room with a 35-person capacity for corporate and social private events.

“This property holds such rich history dating back centuries. We’re honored to have the opportunity to reimagine the site and elevate the guest experience for a modern sensibility. The Federal and our new restaurant will welcome those who come from near and far to experience coastal Maine,” said Gerard Kiladjian, President of Principal Hospitality Group.

Annie K. Designs of Portland is behind the luxe hotel and restaurant interiors. Cosmopolitan ambiance and modern comforts merge with the historic character of the 1810 landmark for a distinctly different hotel experience. The Federal also fuses contemporary charisma with traditional warmth for a refined, yet casual stay.
