Spire Hospitality Bolsters Executive Leadership Team With Two New Hires
IRVING, TX—Spire Hospitality, a nationally recognized third-party hotel management company, has appointed Donna Cooper as senior vice president of commercial strategy and Matthew Schupbach as vice president of accounting.
Spire continues to build out its executive leadership team to accommodate portfolio growth. With the addition of The Grove Resort & Water Park, which Spire took over management in July, the company has a total of 30 properties. Other recent additions to Spire’s portfolio include two Lifestyle hotels, The Leta Hotel in Goleta, CA, and Villa Florence Hotel in San Francisco’s Union Square; and a select-service hotel, Hilton Garden Inn Fremont Milpitas in Fremont, CA
Cooper has been in the hospitality space for nearly three decades. Before joining Spire, she most recently led the global sales team for Wyndham International. In her new role, she will focus on optimizing revenue across the organization, working hand in hand with Ginny Morrison, Spire’s vice president of sales and marketing, and the rest of the company’s revenue leaders to continue to generate revenue for the properties in Spire’s portfolio.
Schupbach has more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Before joining Spire, he was the assistant chief financial officer for Dimension Hospitality. Prior to his stint at Dimension Hospitality, Schupbach was a regional vice president of finance with Caesars Entertainment. He has overseen various finance functions throughout his hospitality career and will bring that knowledge to Spire with the vision of driving internal performance.
“Our continued focus on people, purpose, and passion enables us to grow our team with extraordinarily talented individuals from all over the country,” said Chris Russell, CEO of Spire. “Every team member is vital to our ongoing success and has played an important role in achieving the industry-leading results we are known for today. We are looking forward to Donna and Matthew’s contributions to Spire.”
