Sheraton Suites Columbus Reopens Following Extensive Renovation

COLUMBUS, OH—Sheraton Suites Columbus reopened its doors following a complete top-to-bottom renovation touching every aspect of the guest experience.

“We are extremely excited to see the Sheraton Suites Columbus welcoming guests again,” said Jay Batra, Regal Hospitality owner and president. “This was not just a renovation but a complete repositioning of the property within the market.”

The completion of this ten-month project achieved several new milestones for the hotel’s ownership group, Regal Hospitality. These include the company’s first full-service Marriott branded hotel, introduction of NIDO, a new restaurant concept, and a new building lighting design that will bathe the hotel in colors matching those of special events in the city.

“While I am proud of all of our projects, this one has a soft spot in my heart. Columbus is our hometown and we wanted to create a flagship hotel that all our associates, customers, and community could be proud of,” Mr. Batra said. “When we started the planning for this project, I challenged our design and construction teams to blow me away and what they did in transforming this property was nothing short of amazing.”

As Marriott’s only full-service all suites property in Columbus, guests will experience a larger contemporary lobby design with a fireplace, the Coffee Bar Bar concept, and new outdoor patio. “We moved walls, relocated services, and created new guest impact areas all in an effort to achieve the most outstanding guest experience in Columbus,” said Umesh Vaidya, Hotel General Manager.

“If early comments are any indication, I think we have achieved this.” All rooms offer a spacious living room with a microwave and refrigerator along with a separate bedroom for privacy. “Everyone loved our suites in the past and now with the updates, we expect they will be even more popular the before,” Mr. Batra said, “but the real game changer is our new Jumbo Suites. These suites are ideal for families traveling with kids as they have two separate bedrooms housing three beds along with a separate living room for the family to gather. I know I look for a room like this when I travel with my family.”

Other improvements include the expansion of the 24-hour fitness center, new meeting space, and an updated Sheraton Club. The hotel is expected to host its grand opening in December.
