NEWTON, MA–Sonesta International Hotels Corporation (Sonesta) today announced that it expects to welcome its first guests to the Royal Sonesta Washington D.C. Capitol Hill in Spring 2023. The hotel, which is located at the intersection of 20 Massachusetts Avenue NW and F Street, will have 271 guest rooms, all of which will offer panoramic views of Capitol Hill and the city skyline.
The hotel is located within a short walk to famous historic and cultural landmarks, including the U.S. Capitol, the Supreme Court, Georgetown University Law School and Union Station. The Royal Sonesta Washington D.C. Capitol Hill will include five floors of modern and generously sized guest rooms, a signature restaurant with outdoor café style dining, an executive penthouse that includes a 3,500 square foot ballroom overlooking the city, an additional 6,000 square feet of meeting space, and an extensive fitness center. The hotel is contiguous to NoMa (North of Mass Ave), a vibrant neighborhood popular with young professionals.

The 20 Mass Avenue mixed-use project is under development by Office Properties Income Trust (NASDAQ: OPI). The completed project will also include office space, on-site retail and dining, plus shared penthouse amenities. The project will feature touchless systems and have an emphasis on LEED and WELL Certifications, including a green roof and EV charging stations.
