Rosewood Hotels & Resorts Celebrated Among the World’s Most Highly Revered Hospitality Brands by U.S. News & World Report

February 8, 2023

Since its inception over forty years ago, Rosewood Hotels & Resorts® has long been recognized as one of the world’s leading hospitality brands. Through the endless destination-driven journeys that unfold across the collection’s 30 properties, all guided by a foundational philosophy of A Sense of Place™, Rosewood has evolved the idea of ultra-luxury travel away from the opulent, towards the immersive. Today, the brand’s forward-thinking approach has been affirmed once more by U.S. News & World Report through the esteemed publication’s 2023 Best Hotels List, with eighteen of the portfolio’s properties achieving distinguished ranks in their destinations. Long considered one of the most trusted resources in the travel and hospitality world, the prestigious program looks at professional and guest opinions, annual industry awards and star ratings to evaluate tens of thousands of properties across more than 400 destinations in the United States, Europe, Bermuda, Mexico, Canada, and the Caribbean. Ranking eight Rosewood properties as their respective region’s number one, the 2023 list is a tremendous triumph for the brand as it embarks on another year of unforgettable experiences for guests near and far.

From Madrid to colonial Mexico, the British Virgin Islands to British Columbia, the Rosewood properties heralded as number one underscore the diversity of the collection as well as the brand’s geological footprint. These hotels and resorts provide their visitors with ample opportunities for discovery, whether through spectacular designs showcasing local art and craftsmanship or unique culinary experiences where traditional methods and indigenous ingredients reign supreme. They include:

  • Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco (Tuscany, Italy) – Best Hotel in Tuscany
  • Rosewood Villa Magna (Madrid, Spain) – Best Hotel in Madrid, Best Hotel in Spain
  • Rosewood Hotel Georgia (Vancouver, Canada) – Best Hotel in Vancouver, Best Hotel in British Columbia, Best Hotel in Canada
  • Rosewood Mayakoba (Riviera Maya, Mexico) – Best Hotel in Playa del Carmen, Best Hotel in Riviera Maya and The Yucatan, Best Hotel in Mexico
  • Rosewood San Miguel de Allende (San Miguel de Allende, Mexico) – Best Hotel in San Miguel de Allende
  • Rosewood Little Dix Bay (Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands) – Best Hotel in the British Virgin Islands
  • Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek (Dallas, Texas) – Best Hotel in Dallas
  • Rosewood Miramar Beach (Montecito, California) – Best Hotel in Santa Barbara

As significant as the rankings themselves, the 2023 accolades indicate an unwavering affinity year over year for each of the eight number one properties. Rosewood Mayakoba ascended to the number spot on the list of hotels in the whole of Mexico, retaining the number one ranking in the region of Playa del Carmen for the sixth consecutive year. Also in Mexico, Rosewood San Miguel de Allende was named number one in the city for the fifth year in a row. In the states, Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek and Rosewood Miramar Beach both rose to the number one spot for hotels in their destinations of Dallas and Montecito, respectively, up from number two and number five. And across the pond, Rosewood Villa Magna, which opened in 2021, earned the top spot in both the country of Spain and city of Madrid in its first year of eligibility, while Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco held on to its first-place ranking in Tuscany for the fourth consecutive year.

“It’s always humbling to receive the results of the U.S. News & World Report’s annual rankings and I can say that this year’s list is one I am especially proud of, with eighteen Rosewood properties recognized for the incredible journeys that they facilitate for our guests,” said Radha Arora, President of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts. “As we continue to grow Rosewood across the globe and introduce new destinations and experiences into the fold, to be honored by both travelers and industry professionals is a sign that we are delivering on our promise: to inspire people around the world to immerse themselves in the unknown and seek out moments of discovery above all else.”

In addition to the eight properties above, nine other Rosewood properties were awarded Gold Badges by U.S. News & World Report for their positioning in the top ten percent of all ranked hotels in their respective countries.
