Relationships can be the Best Form of Marketing

By Daniel Zolinski | July 24, 2023

This article may come as a surprise to most of you. Why you ask? It’s always important to put the car in park and enjoy the view. What I mean is the hospitality industry is always going. If you are a hotelier or restaurateur, you’re open 7 days of the week. The switch is always turned on.  As humans, we typically invest all our time in growing ourselves, our businesses, our muscles, and our wealth. There is nothing wrong with that. It’s what we need to do to become the best versions of ourselves and to reach our full potential in life. The purpose here is to sit back and take in what the next few lines of words may do for you. This is a time to relax and turn that switch off.

Something struck me after a meeting I had last week. I got to understand the more personal side of the people I was talking to. We are humans. We all have stuff going on that only that person, or a select few people, truly know about. By taking the time to ask a couple of questions and listen in on the stories I was being told, I concluded that life shouldn’t always be work. I instinctually know this and I’m sure you do too, but it’s difficult to escape the work we must manage.

That’s why Hotel Interactive prides itself in the relationships it creates. That’s what separates this platform from the rest. It’s a community. One that brings like-minded people together to learn from one another, to make long lasting relationships, and to infuse excellence into every person that joins. By instilling this mindset into the community, not only can each person grow with each other, but they can now carry that same mindset into every other part of their lives.

And guess what? It’s the best form of marketing. No one wants to work with anyone they don’t like. If you don’t know anything about me or haven’t fostered a relationship with me, then why would you ever want to work with me? It’s not all work and it shouldn’t be. Taking the time to understand a person and genuinely get to know them is the most rewarding part of it all. It’s what truly matters in life.

I write this as a reminder to never lose sight of the impact each of us can have on one another. Make that extra phone call. Write that extra text or email. Give one last handshake. It goes a long way and won’t be forgotten by the person receiving it. I want you to know you are valued here. Keep pursuing your hospitality goals in full force and never forget the true meaning of it all.
