Radisson Individuals Debuts In Latin America With A Portfolio Signing Of Resort Hotels

March 3, 2022

MINNEAPOLIS—Radisson Hotel Group Americas today announced the signing and opening of a portfolio of eight Radisson Individuals hotels throughout Colombia and Panama. The portfolio is owned and operated by Faranda Hotels, a renowned hotel company in Latin America and Spain.

The eight hotels have already opened their doors as Radisson Individuals and there are advanced negotiations to sign additional properties in the Caribbean and Latin America with Faranda Hotels. Each of the hotels provide phenomenal accommodations in unique destinations, offering a taste of paradise along stunning beaches and in charming cities rich with culture.

“We are thrilled to build this exciting new relationship with Faranda Hotels and welcome these extraordinary hotels to the Radisson Hotel Group Americas family,” said Paul Adan, managing director, Caribbean and Latin America (CALA), Radisson Hotel Group Americas (RHGA). “This portfolio signing marks a major milestone as we introduce Radisson Individuals to Latin America. This brand is certain to fuel RHGA’s growth in the region, as it makes it easy for existing upper-upscale independent hotels to affiliate to one of the largest hotel companies in the world. The Faranda Hotels portfolio is also certain to add tremendous value to our Radisson Rewards Americas program, as it will offer our members fantastic resort options. We are very grateful for Onirius Hospitality, which is based in Colombia, for brokering this transaction.”

Among the hotels within the portfolio are two landmark properties in both Colombia and Panama. This includes Hotel Caribe by Faranda Grand, the first hotel to open in Cartagena back in 1945 just steps away from Bocagrande Beach. As well as Hotel El Panama by Faranda Grand in Panama City, renowned for its beautiful event space with 25 meeting rooms to accommodate 5,000 guests. Three boutique hotels are opening within the historic Walled City in Cartagena, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Hotels will also open in Bogota, Barranquilla, and Cali, with the opening in Cali marking the reintroduction of Radisson Hotel Group Americas in this market.

“Joining the Radisson Individuals brand was the perfect opportunity for us to affiliate our portfolio of hotels to the Radisson Hotel Group Americas’ system, while maintaining the unique identity and signature style our guests expect from our hotels,” said Carlos Fernandez, chief commercial officer, Faranda Hotels. “We are excited to debut this remarkable brand in Latin America and create memorable moments for all our guests.”
