COLUMBUS, OH – The brand-new Residence Inn by Marriott Columbus Airport has just opened as the first extended-stay hotel at John Glenn Columbus International Airport, located adjacent to the terminal at 4294 International Gateway. Fully committed to traveler safety with strict social distancing, mask mandates and intense sanitation, the all-suites property adheres to the rigid Marriott Commitment to Clean and First Hospitality’s Cleanliness First standards. The 122-room hotel is dog friendly and is owned by the Columbus Regional Airport Authority. The Airport Authority partnered with Rockbridge Capital to develop the site and manage the project, which was built by Smoot Construction.
Rosemont, Ill.-based First Hospitality was selected to manage Residence Inn Columbus Airport, marking First Hospitality’s fifth hotel in the Columbus area. Other First Hospitality properties in the market include: Hotel LeVeque, Fairfield Inn & Suites Columbus OSU, Fairfield Inn & Suites Columbus Airport and Fairfield Inn & Suites Columbus East. First Hospitality tapped the extraordinary hospitality experience of Brad Jester to serve as General Manager of its newest hotel. Jester brings more than 20 years of proven practice in hotel management.
This aviation-themed hotel was carefully designed to meet today’s travelers’ needs, with special attention paid to lifestyle conveniences. Each pet-friendly guest suite comes with a full kitchen, abundant amenities and separate spaces to eat, sleep and relax. Guests also enjoy grocery services, a full-service lobby bar, indoor pool, fitness center, outdoor grill and fire pit, putting green and meeting space for up to 30 guests.
“The Residence Inn Columbus Airport is such a great addition to Columbus,” said Jester. “Now, more than ever, travelers need and want a safe, comfortable place that feels like home while they’re away. But they also are seeking great design and extra perks to enjoy during downtime — like our outdoor grill, fire pit, putting green, pool and fitness facilities,” Jester said.
Jester is joined by Machelle Collins who will serve as director of sales and marketing for the all-suite hotel. Collins brings two decades of hospitality sales experience, having helped travelers, meeting planners and corporate housing specialists with their lodging needs for 20 years.
Whether visiting for business, leisure or to access the city’s renowned medical care, Residence Inn Columbus Airport offers guests a place that feels like home. Conveniently located on airport property, a complimentary shuttle service is available to guests to and from destinations within a 5-mile radius of the hotel.
