PHOENIX–Best Western® Hotels & Resorts (BWHR) today announces the opening of the very first Vīb® in Africa, Vīb Cape Town. The urban, upscale boutique brand joins 17 additional BWHR-branded hotels on the continent.
Designed by well-known local architect, Robert Silke, Vīb Cape Town is a first for Africa. It is one of only four of its kind in the world and the only Vīb in the Southern Hemisphere. BWHR’s third property located in Cape town, Vīb Cape Town is the newest addition to the trendy Green Point strip, a vibrant young neighborhood overlooking Cape Town Stadium and Table Bay. The hotel is a few minutes away from Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront, a bustling commercial district containing, among other attractions, the Nelson Mandela Robben Island Gateway.
“We are delighted to have Vīb Cape Town join the BWHR in Africa,” said Suzi Yoder, Senior Vice President, International Operations. “We have a strong pipeline of 12 additional Vīb’s planned across the globe and the quality of Vīb Cape Town is aligned to the caliber of all Vīb properties, with a strong focus on standards and providing exceptional customer service with a good dose of local flair.”
The Owner of Vīb Cape Town, Muslim Jaffer said, “we have been working with BWHR on this project since 2016 and are confident that our long-term vision and investment in the first Vīb in Africa is the right decision. Vīb hotels are pitched at both the workcation and staycation market, providing the right blend of amenities to cater for a businessperson on the move as well as the domestic traveller seeking a dynamic designer stop-over. Our Vīb Cape Town combines all the mod cons with one of the most jaw-dropping pools in the Mother City and pays homage to Cape Town as a creative capital. We can’t wait to welcome guests!”
The General manager of Vīb Cape Town, Niall Bruyns said, “our goal has been to identify and cater to every requirement of today’s busy, connected traveller, enhanced by one of the world’s most beautiful settings. We offer expertly thought-out and up-to-date, technically proficient hotel rooms together with convenient access to surrounding attractions. We also cater to relaxation activities within the hotel, with a spectacular rooftop pool deck with incredible views of the ocean, Table Mountain and the cityscape, and a contemporary menu of vibrant modern cuisine featuring sushi and tapas-style sharing dishes alongside favourites like grilled steaks and gourmet burgers,” continued Niall.
Furthermore, “our rooms are designed specifically to provide our guests with every necessary comfort and convenience tailored to their specific requirements, including no less than a king-sized bed, large-screen TV, generous bathroom, Nespresso machine, individual workstations with Herman Miller task chairs and dedicated Wi-Fi access points in each room,” said Niall Bruyns.
