ASHEVILLE, NC–McKibbon Hospitality, an award-winning leader in hotel management, is pleased to announce the appointment and internal promotion of three well-respected leaders in the Asheville market: Dexter Hazel as General Manager of Aloft Asheville Downtown, Brandon Miller as General Manager of AC Hotel Asheville Downtown, and Sarah Cockman as Assistant General Manager of Kimpton Hotel Arras. Seasoned hospitality professionals with proven track records of success, Hazel, Miller, and Cockman began their new roles late last month.
Hazel rejoins the Aloft Asheville team from his most recent post as Assistant General Manager of Kimpton Hotel Arras. An Aloft brand guru, Hazel previously served as Aloft Asheville’s Assistant General Manager, preceded by a stint as Operations Manager. His in-depth knowledge of the brand and inner workings of the property as well as his dedication to his team and guests prime Hazel to steer the property toward continued success as its General Manager.
With Hazel’s transition from Kimpton Hotel Arras, Guest Services Manager, Sarah Cockman, has been promoted to Assistant General Manager of the 128-room boutique property. An integral member of the hotel’s opening team, Cockman has overseen the front office team and bell staff since 2019 and will now help oversee all areas of hotel operations in her new role.
Moving from his most recent role as General Manager of Aloft Asheville Downtown, Miller has assumed management of AC Asheville Downtown and its rooftop bar, Capella on 9. Before his time in Asheville, Miller served as General Manager of McKibbon’s Aloft Tallahassee Downtown, working his way up from Assistant General Manager and Operations Manager, preceded by over a decade of experience at the Nashville Airport Marriott where he held a variety of management positions including restaurant supervisor.
