Little Gem Resorts Reopen Their Doors

June 8, 2020

NANTUCKET, MA—The Nantucket Hotel reopens its door to the public on June 8 and Winnetu Oceanside Resort in Martha’s Vineyard on June 12 following Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker’s directive permitting hotels and restaurants to return to business. Owned and operated by the Massachusetts-based Snider family, health and safety remain a top priority upon reopen to ensure guests enjoy a quintessential summer experience.

The Nantucket Hotel and Winnetu Oceanside Resort have implemented strict new guidelines that exceed the standards set by local, state and federal authorities as well as CDC-advised practices.

An extensive range of enhancements, including advanced cleaning and sanitization protocols, have been implemented resort wide. Measures include dedicated training, social distancing guidelines, non-invasive temperature screenings, electrostatic sprayers, in-room sanitization amenity for guests and more. The resorts are large and airy offering suites, cottages or private homes equipped with kitchenettes or full kitchens and private, outside entrances for peace of mind.

Transportation & Accessibility
Both properties offer in- and out-of-town, pre-reserved shuttles for ferry arrivals, and from the properties to the downtown areas, all with new social distancing regulations. Upon arrival at Winnetu Oceanside Resort, guests will have access to over 11 expansive acres on the beach as the only oceanside resort on Marth’s Vineyard close to downtown Edgartown. The Nantucket Hotel is located in-town and is an easy walk to beautiful stretches of beach.

Food & Beverage
Dining in-restaurant is an option at both properties, not a requirement. All on-site food and beverage outlets offer proper social distancing between tables or private dining rooms for groups or families to reserve. Staff is available to provide grocery shuttle trips or meal kits for in-suite meal preparation and restaurants offer all-day take out options.

Housekeeping
To reduce the number of staff filtering through each accommodation, the properties have implemented every-other-day housekeeping service and weekly housekeeping in the Winnetu private homes. Guests can choose to receive housekeeping services more frequently if needed or not at all if they wish to maintain self-isolation. Each accommodation also comes with its own Cleaning Swag Bag so that guests can continue to disinfect as desired.

Resort Amenities & Activities
Both resorts offer two spacious swimming pools each, fitness centers, children’s programs and yoga, all within the proper social distance parameters. Pools and hot tubs are cleaned daily and tested four times per day. Guests have the option to sit by the pools or in cabanas while maintaining distance from others.

At The Nantucket Hotel and Winnetu Oceanside Resort, concierges are available to arrange picnics, bike rentals, vehicle rentals, beach combing, bird watching, paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing and more.

My Vintage Summer
This year, both properties will take a look backwards to find inspiration from summers past through a community-building digital contest. Past guests, locals and friends are invited to share their favorite Nantucket or Martha’s Vineyard memories and tag #MyVintageSummer to be featured in the properties’ virtual scrapbook and for a chance to win a complimentary vacation to create new memories!
