IHG Hotels & Resorts’ “Party With A Purpose” Holiday Event Supports Children Through 30 Local Nonprofits
ATLANTA–IHG Hotels & Resorts, one of the world’s leading hotel companies, recently hosted “Party with a Purpose,” a holiday initiative to assemble children’s toys at 29 company-managed hotels across the United States and Canada. Held simultaneously on Dec. 2, more than 1,250 toys for children were donated to 30 local nonprofits. Additionally, in support of IHG’s Journey to Tomorrow commitment to combat food insecurity, for every item donated for the event, IHG Hotels & Resorts matched a donation to No Kid Hungry. The company’s donation of $20,000 can help provide up to 200,000 healthy meals to children across the country.
Toys and essential items donated by the participating hotels were assembled at each event and included bicycles, doll houses, rocking chairs, children’s desks, and more. More than 750 people including Hotel General Managers and colleagues, as well as corporate clients and meeting planners, all came together for their local communities. Their efforts supported organizations including Toys for Tots, Ronald McDonald House Charities, and The Shoebox Project for Women.

“Party with a Purpose” was first created in 2020 by the team at the InterContinental San Francisco as a hands-on community initiative for the holidays. IHG expanded the event to a majority of its company-managed hotels this year, helping to fulfill the company’s Journey to Tomorrow commitment to improve the lives of 30 million people in its communities around the world.
