AC Hotels By Marriott Enters New U.S. Metro Markets

Marriott’s upscale lifestyle AC Hotels brand continues to gain momentum in the U.S. with entry into major metropolitan markets, including recent openings in the Miami and Fort Lauderdale area and an acquisition in Phoenix.

The European-inspired brand has now surpassed 180 hotels globally. According to Marriott International, the brand has been designed, refined, crafted and considered to create a seamless guest experience. It includes signature features like the AC Lounge and for guests to collaborate as well as AC Kitchen, which offers a European-inspired breakfast.

The brand today marked the opening of the AC Hotel Fort Lauderdale Airport, which represents its newest South Florida property. The hotel is in close proximity to the Fort Lauderdale International Airport, Port Everglades Cruise Terminals and Las Olas Boulevard, a popular destination.

“We are thrilled to expand the presence of AC Hotels in one of South Florida’s most up-and-coming travel destinations,” said Mychal Milian, General Manager of AC Hotel Fort Lauderdale Airport. “Following an unprecedented year for the travel industry, we are excited to welcome guests and locals alike to escape traditional travel and experience a modern and purposeful stay at our 154-room property.”

The brand’s presence in South Florida also grew recently with the recent opening the 177-room Marriott Miami Dadeland. Operated by Concord Hospitality Enterprises, the hotel is designed as a modern space with European flair that has the flexibility to host meetings and events, according to the company.

Meanwhile, Chicago-based hotel investment and management company, Arbor Lodging Partners has acquired the AC Hotel Phoenix Downtown. The AC Hotel Phoenix Downtown boasts 199 luxurious rooms and suites, along with its AC Lounge and the AC Kitchen, which offers a European-Style breakfast and can also accommodate special culinary events; along with various meeting spaces for the return of business travel.

The hotel’s location is in close proximity to Arizona State University’s Downtown Campus, along with the cutting-edge Phoenix Biomedical Campus. The hotel is also in close proximity to the Phoenix Convention Center which plays host to numerous events throughout the year, along with two main stadiums which includes Footprint Center, home of the Phoenix Suns and host to numerous events and concerts; and Chase Field, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
