AHC Hospitality Bolsters Its Executive Ranks With Promotions, New Hire

Grand Rapids-based hospitality company AHC Hospitality has announced that it has promoted six key members of its staff and made one new hire in the past two months.

George Aquino, AHC Hospitality’s vice president and managing director, commented on the team additions. “These well-deserved promotions and new hire at AHC Hospitality prove that the Grand Rapids hospitality industry is rebounding in a big way. We’re confident that these leaders will bring a fresh perspective, guiding their teams to further elevate the guest experience and maintain the high caliber of service expected at AHC Hospitality-managed hotels,” he said.

The promotions are listed below.

Caitlin McClelland: Spa Director

Caitlin McClelland has been with AHC Hospitality for over 10 years, starting as a seasonal massage therapist before joining the team as spa manager in 2012. In Caitlin’s new role as AHC’s spa director, she will help support spa and salon operations at the Amway Grand Plaza and the JW Marriott Grand Rapids.

Ryan Schmied: Director of Food & Beverage Experiences

Known for his knowledge of food & beverage and his hotel management experience, Ryan was promoted to corporate director of food and beverage experiences at AHC after joining the team in 2018 as the AC Hotel Grand Rapids’ grand opening general manager. In his new role, Ryan will be responsible for conceptual and menu development as well as project planning.

Ethan Hansen: Hotel Manager, Morton Hotel

As an instrumental team member in the opening of the apartment-style, dog-centric Morton Hotel earlier this year, Ethan was promoted from hotel supervisor to hotel manager. During his time at the Morton, he has done everything from overseeing the housekeeping and laundry operations to acting as resident expert of MEWs Property Management System & Linel Lock System.

Lindsay Hovingh: Director of Rooms, Amway Grand Plaza, Curio Collection by Hilton

Lindsay is no stranger to AHC Hospitality, having held positions as front desk agent, guest services supervisor, rooms division manager and, most recently, the opening general manager of the Hyatt Place Grand Rapids / Downtown.

Melissa Stanley: General Manager, AC Hotel Grand Rapids

Throughout Melissa’s 13 years with AHC and nearly three years at the AC Hotel, she has been a key leader at the company, holding positions including operations manager and assistant general manager before being promoted to general manager.

Jeffrey Burns: Assistant General Manager, Hyatt Place Grand Rapids / Downtown

No stranger to the AHC Hospitality team, Jeffrey Burns was promoted to assistant general manager of the AC Hotel as he celebrates his 10th year with the company and his sixth position within AHC Hospitality.

 NEW HIRE

Stephanie Cutler: General Manager, Hyatt Place Grand Rapids / Downtown

The newest member of the AHC Hospitality team is Stephanie Cutler, who was recently hired as general manager of the Hyatt Place Grand Rapids / Downtown. Stephanie’s prior experience includes general manager of the Hampton Inn and Suites and guest services manager of the Hyatt Place South.
