RIO DE JANEIRO--eRevMax, the leading travel technology provider to the hospitality industry has released an infographic shedding key insights of the hotel industry in Brazil. The Infographic titled Brazil Hotel Industry Snapshot highlights that nearly half-million foreign tourists are expected to visit Brazil during Rio 2016 Olympics and the country is set to welcome a total of 7 million international tourists by the end of this year.

Olympics is cited as the largest sporting event in the world and hotels in Brazil are going to witness 90% occupancy and average room rates to jump 3X during the event. Online travel market in the country has seen an exponential growth in recent years - 45% of all travel revenue in LATAM comes from online and Brazil has seen 13% growth in online travel sales compared to last year.

The infographic also focuses on the dominant online channel players in the region. The top four OTAs - Decolar, Booking.com, Hotel Urbano and CVC, together occupy 60% of the online travel space and two-third online hotel bookings come from OTAs in the country.

The increase use of mobile phone and high internet penetration in Brazil has led the travelers to book their preferred accommodation online. The country has more than 130 million mobile phone users and 59% travelers use mobile to plan or book accommodation whereas 52% leisure travelers use mobile to share their travel experience online.
