NEW YORK – Cushman & Wakefield today announced that Daniel Falvey has transitioned from their Equity, Debt and Structured Finance Group (“EDSF”) to Valuation & Advisory where he will be a Managing Director within C&W’s expanding Global Property Tax Team.
In this new role, Mr. Falvey will be responsible for overseeing Hospitality & Gaming Tax Advisory Services. C&W has been steadily growing their presence in the industry by co-joining traditional tax advisory services (focusing on tax review, appeal filings, forecasting and advisory services) with real estate asset class expertise (Retail, Industrial, Data Centers, Corporate Facilities/Headquarters and Self Storage). This approach allows our professionals to decipher complex assignments and analyze them within an industry specific context. Dan has had multi-faceted exposure to many sides of the Hospitality business and brings all of it to bear in his new role.
Mr. Falvey began his career with Cushman & Wakefield in 2002 as an appraiser with Valuation & Advisory specializing in Hospitality and Gaming. He left C&W in 2009 to open the New York office for Prism Hotels & Resorts, a Dallas based hotel management company. At Prism, he was responsible for the acquisition and negotiation of new management contracts and receivership engagements. He re-joined C&W in 2011 and during his time with the ESDF Group he assisted in all aspects of the practice including origination, structuring and marketing of commercial real estate and lodging debt and equity finance transactions.
“C&W’s Property Tax Services practice is excited to welcome Dan aboard,” said David Kline, Senior Managing Director, Global Property Tax Services. “Dan’s years of experience and extensive relationships within the hospitality & gaming industry will greatly assist us in delivering best in class service to our global clients. Dan brings a unique blend of talents to our practice that he has gained from working for several different business units within C&W. The common denominator though, has always been hospitality & gaming. We believe that the combination of C&W’s valuation expertise and property tax consulting skill-sets are an unbeatable combination. C&W is firmly established as the go-to choice for hospitality & gaming clients with property tax issues.”
Mr. Falvey is a member of the Urban Land Institute and has been a guest lecturer at the New York University’s Master of Real Estate Program. He will be based in the New York office.
