Hotel Assets Group, LLC (Hotel AG), announced today that Rick George has joined the firm and will open the Hotel AG Chicago office.
“Rick comes from a deep hospitality transaction background and will add his resume to that of Hotel AG. We believe his tenure within the hotel real estate industry will complement the Hotel AG brand,” commented H. Keith Thompson, principal of the firm. “There are a few dots on the map that we want a presence in and Chicago is one of them. We know Rick very well and have great respect for his ability to sell hotels. We look forward to having him lead the team in Chicago.”
About Rick George
A graduate of Cornell University, Rick joined HREC Investment Advisors (HREC IA) in 2003 as a principal owner and partner in charge of the Chicago and Los Angeles offices. During his tenure at HREC IA, Rick helped build and train the human capital infrastructure of the firm, while focusing on transactions from the lower to the upper mid-market segments, as well as capital markets production and debt placement. In addition to revenue production, Rick was also responsible for the macro management of the HREC IA brand, national client marketing efforts, technology, and personnel management in the field.
Rick has closed 150 +/- hotel transactions and financings while a principal with HREC IA representing over $1 billion in transactions and debt financing volume that encompass all segments of the hospitality marketplace.
In 2011, Rick left the hospitality industry after 20 years to focus on his personal life. It was during this period that he was able to focus on some of the charitable initiatives he felt drawn toward including work with the American Red Cross. Due to fallout from the economic crisis and in conjunction with former colleagues from the hotel industry, Rick began working in a property management role within the multi-family segment. As a result, Rick formed Field Asset Service Team, aka F.A.S.T., which currently manages approximately 300 single and multi-family residential units throughout Chicago.
Earlier in Rick’s career he held senior positions at Intercontinental Hotels (IHG) as the Director of Franchise Sales and Development for the West North Central region of the U.S., and Wyndham Hotels as the Regional Vice President of Franchise Sales.
Andy Broad, a partner with Hotel AG, remarked, “Rick will be bringing his experience, energy and expertise to Hotel AG as a transaction and capital markets specialist by opening the firm’s office in Chicago. In addition to the deal production and client marketing roles, Rick will assist Hotel AG's principals in all aspects of growing the Hotel AG brand.”
