Upper Upscale Owner, Brand and Manager

Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia is thrilled to announce the appointment of Paul Eckert as managing director. Joining the resort from Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort, Eckert is poised to take the helm of this Spanish-inspired luxury resort located at the base of picturesque Camelback Mountain in the exclusive enclave of Paradise Valley, Arizona. The newest addition to the Omni Hotels & Resorts portfolio, the Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia is a privately owned and debt-free legacy purchase.

In his role as Managing Director, Eckert oversees the day-to-day operations of the resort which features 293 spacious guest rooms including 38 luxury suites and two presidential suites, the award-winning Joya Spa, and critically-acclaimed Prado restaurant. Eckert joined Omni Hotels & Resorts in 1999 and has worked in various roles throughout his 15 year tenure with the company. He served as director of food & beverage at Omni Interlocken Resort Golf Club, director of operations at Omni Mandalay Hotel at Las Colinas, and general manager at Omni Jacksonville Hotel. Most recently, Eckert led the $90 million “reimagination” of Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort as general manager.

Over his 23 years of hospitality experience, Eckert has constantly produced results for the properties he has managed. The past three hotels Eckert has overseen were acknowledged as AAA Four Diamond rated properties and he was awarded Operations Executive of the Year for Omni Hotels & Resorts in 2004. During his tenure as general manager of the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort, Eckert served as the president of the North Florida Hotel Lodging Association and held executive board-level positions with the Jackson Convention & Visitors Bureau, the North Florida March of Dimes, and the Patron Peterson Foundation. In 2013, Eckert was ranked as one of Jacksonville’s “40 Under 40 Leaders.”

In joining Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia, Eckert has brought with him his commitment to community involvement and is a current board member of the Scottsdale Convention & Visitors Bureau. Originally from Colorado, Eckert enjoys cooking, playing sports, and spending time with his wife and four children.
