HI Connect® has already been declared a success by attendees as a massive unprecedented triumph; and suppliers who shared a similar sentiment. Now it’s time for those that created the amazing vignettes for HI Connect® 2014 to extol the virtues of participating in the most exciting event in the hotel industry.

And they’re thrilled to have been an integral part of setting the stage for the amazing success enjoyed during the three days of HI Connect®®, held April 2-4, 2014 in Nashville, TN. Some have even started to think about how they will outdo themselves for the 2015 edition, which will be back in Nashville March 25-27, 2015.

The HI Connect® difference is possible because while most events focus on a single discipline such as design or development, HI Connect® successfully bridges that seemingly unpassable chasm uniting all elements of the hotel industry into a cohesive event experience. HI Connect® is the only trade show engaging professionals by cultivating interaction and relationships in a way hospitality executives can appreciate because of how vignettes, culinary experiences, accredited educational sessions and other elements connect people in meaningful relationship and business building activities.

This format drew a higher level of decision maker, and the show floor was flooded with hotel brand CEOs and Presidents, hotel owners, management company leadership and top level hotel company buyers all looking to experience 50 fully constructed and functional vignettes in more than 100,000 square feet of show space.

Massively scaled in size, HI Connect® is the hospitality tradeshow reimagined and featured the industry’s finest designers, suppliers, architects and purchasing companies presenting products in context, a more sophisticated level of conversation was inspired, officially changing the way industry insiders get business done.

Designers, architects and purchasing professionals participating in this year’s event are already marking their calendars to ensure they’re part of HI Connect® when it returns to Nashville, TN March 25-27, 2015.

Patti Tritschler
Patti Tritschler, President of Interior Image Group, who spearheaded creating the ‘lobby’ said the event experience was just as she envisioned. "It was truly rewarding for the Interior Image Group team to see HI Connect® attendees enjoying the space exactly as we had envisioned. The lobby had a contagious vibe drawing attendees into the space where they could eat, dine, connect and unwind. The suppliers we worked with were amazing; it was great seeing them interact with hoteliers and other designers in such a productive way. Where else can designers, suppliers and hoteliers engage in a way that showcases ideas, design talent and unique products for the hospitality industry to admire? HI Connect® is truly a one of a kind experience that we would recommend to anyone in the hotel industry. There is a something for everyone."

Tim Sefchok
“This is the first time Marriott has sponsored a vignette and we are very pleased to be here. I attend all the design tradeshows throughout the country and this one is quite unique,” said Tim Sefchok, Senior Design Director, Full Service Brands, Marriott International. “HI Connect® pulls all the products together and you can see those products in a physical environment versus other shows where you walk the floor and you see products and commodities but not in a true setting.“
I have been in the industry a very long time and worked with Marriott for a long time and I have attended a lot of tradeshows. Here, Marriott International partners with a lot of manufacturers that we work with. But, I also got to see a lot of alternate products from different suppliers and although we have a vignette it gives me the opportunity to see other brands and design firms and see what they are showcasing so it all comes together in an exciting opportunity for me,” Sefchok added.

Gina Joyce
Gina Joyce, Principal of Joyce Design Group who created a Luxury Guestroom for HI Connect® said she believes this event is the one venue that truly illustrates to the hospitality industry her true skill set, which helps her grow her business.
“We feel this is the best venue for us to give a taste and sampling of our talent. HI Connect® is unique as the tables are turned because the designers are in the vignettes selling their talent and showcasing the products from the vendor. And then the vendors and designers can be inspired from that,” said Joyce. “Then hotel brands and ownership can come through and get a sense of the options out there in the field. The benefit of showing a product in a real setting shows the ability of vendors [and] the capabilities of designers.”

Laurie Woliung
Laurie Woliung, Director of Design, Marriott International, said she quickly became a fan of the event for multiple reasons.
“I really have found this trade show to be beneficial not only as an exhibitor but as a designer. We go to a lot of tradeshows where we see trade show booths that are just case goods or chairs, but HI Connect® is so helpful because we see the products contextually,” said Woliung.

Jillian Van Dresser
Jillian Van Dresser, Principal of The Van Dresser Company said she was thrilled to be participate and built her business simultaneously. “Where else can a design collaborative present a twist on the ‘requested or expected’ in order to offer prospective clients the opportunity to experience innovative environments of such variety? Where else could we have met a plethora of excellent potential new clients; laughed with existing clients, and experienced great camaraderie with fellow designers?
“We truly walked away on a high! We are excited to begin work on multiple, new projects as a result of our participation in HI Connect®® 2014. That is a win-win for us all!,” she added.

Toby Schermerhorn Robert Laschever
Toby Schermerhorn and Robert Laschever of Cauhaus Design agreed, collectively saying: "HI Connect® is a creative laboratory in which all things are possible, and new relationships are born, making it an ideal place for Designers like us to grow".

Marty Vorko
“HI Connect® is an amazing occasion for knowledge and marketing in today's Hospitality World. As a Featured Designer for an Upscale Guest Room in the 2014 HI Connect®®, I had the chance to meet Hospitality Designers, Architects, Suppliers, Hotel Operators and Developers. It’s a fantastic opportunity to showcase your talent as well as building the foundation of fostering great relationships. I have already begun to establish a great rapport with the people I have met," said Marty Vorko, Owner & Principal, 1213ID.
