Gemini Real Estate Advisors announced that it has acquired two new properties that will become part of Gemini’s growing Jade Hotel portfolio. The hotels, which will be designed to align with the boutique lifestyle brand, are located in Manhattan’s Seaport district and Florida’s vibrant Miami Beach. These developments will become the third and fourth Jade properties, following the successful Jade Greenwich Village and under construction Jade Bryant Park.
“The popularity of our first Jade Hotel in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village signaled the need to provide travelers with an authentic boutique experience,” said Will Obeid, President and CEO of Gemini Real Estate Advisors. “We are excited to expand The Jade portfolio with the Bryant Park development and the acquisition of these two hotels, and believe that the new Seaport and Miami Beach locations will resonate with our guests.”
The seven-story Jade Hotel Seaport located at 33 Peck Slip will feature 72 guestrooms, including 10 suites with outdoor terraces overlooking the Brooklyn Bridge. Led by design firm Atelier & Co., the hotel’s façade and interior will draw upon the historic Seaport and Colonial Williamsburg as inspiration. Antique American furniture and rich colors in the public spaces and guestrooms will inspire nostalgia, whereas modern technology and clean lines will keep the hotel contemporary. The Jade Hotel Seaport, along with its bar and restaurant, will open in mid-2015.
The Jade Hotel Miami Beach, centrally located in the heart of Miami Beach on 18th Street and James Avenue, will open in early-2016 after completing an expansion. The hotel will feature a restaurant, bar and 70 guestrooms that overlook a beautifully landscaped courtyard and garden reminiscent of elements at the Alhambra. Kobi Karp Architecture, the architect of record, with design architect Atelier & Co., channeled ancient Roman and Greek villas, and Miami’s charming Art Deco buildings with the design of the property.
After the success of The Jade Greenwich Village, which opened in March 2013, Gemini embarked on expanding the brand by building another ground-up Jade Hotel in Midtown Manhattan. The exterior of the 114-room, 20-story Jade Hotel Bryant Park will embody Manhattan’s twentieth century skyscrapers and Neoclassical architecture, and the interior will blend iconic features from Michelangelo’s San Lorenzo in Florence with modern, mid-century furniture and décor. The hotel, which will have a restaurant, bar and public rooftop terrace, will open in late-2015.
