Merric Millwork and Seating recently completed millwork renovations to the public spaces at three Georgia-based Courtyard by Marriott Hotels. Work on the three projects was performed simultaneously.
• Courtyard by Marriott Peachtree Corners - 3209 Holcomb Bridge Road, Norcross, GA
• Courtyard by Marriott Windy Hill - 2045 South Park Place, Atlanta, GA
• Courtyard by Marriott Marietta - 2455 Delk Road, Marietta, GA
The general contractor on the project was Artistic General Contracting of Lakeland, FL. The developer was Sage Hospitality.

"The logistics of having three projects running simultaneously, especially during the holidays, was challenging. Merric and Merric Project Manager Chris Jones specifically, was able to make last minute schedule adjustments that were critical in the successful completion of these three projects. I look forward to our next project together," said Douglas Wood, Project Manager at Artistic General Contracting.

Millwork installation for the three projects each took six days, with each installation project scheduled back to back. The Peachtree Corners project began on Dec. 27 and was completed Jan. 2. The Windy Hill project began on January 6 and was completed on Jan. 11. The final project of the trio, Marietta, started on Jan. 13 and was completed on Jan. 18.

Juggling shipping and installation schedules for the three projects posed some challenges, according to Merric Project Manager Christopher Jones.

"Merric's install crew was ready for all the jobs as they came in, but from a production and shipping standpoint, there was a slight challenge to re-adjust and flip-flop the last two projects scheduled to ship, which were the Windy Hill and Marietta hotels," said Jones. "Marietta was delayed slightly and not ready for delivery to happen on Jan. 6. After delivery of Peachtree, the client requested Windy Hill to happen next, which meant we had to re-adjust pieces cut on the floor and in assembly for Marietta and expedite the Windy Hill mid-production allotment to complete this project on a revised schedule. Facing these challenges, we were able to re-adjust production and ship the pieces on time for the client."

Merric Millwork and Seating hand constructed and installed the following public space pieces, which were all identical, at each hotel:
• Focal wall
• Welcome pedestals
• Go board
• Quick print station
• Local library
• Home theater
• Business center
• S-Bar
• Market
• Exercise room towel tower
• Guest laundry counters
• Communal table with Corian counter tops
• Stainless running base for lobby
