Pegasus Solutions is expanding its business intelligence offering for hotels worldwide with development of the next generation of PegasusView Market Performance Analytics. Leveraging data derived from the only global hotel booking switch, which is owned by Pegasus, the new Market Performance Analytics tools will provide useable market reports drawn from billions of global hotel transactions that totaled $14 billion in 2013 alone.
“Pegasus is uniquely positioned as the only company that provides global industry data drawn from both the global distribution systems and online channels on both a historical and forward-looking basis,” said Linda Kent, senior vice president, distribution strategy for Pegasus Solutions. “With the highest volume of electronic hotel transactions across the greatest number of hotels worldwide, Pegasus will deliver the industry’s most robust view of market performance. Hotels that use this information will be able to immediately react to changing conditions to optimize rates and availability for the greatest revenue returns.”
Analytics will be available to independent hotels and groups with customized reporting solutions offered for larger groups and brands. The significantly expanded scope of the new Market Performance Analytics will provide more in-depth views of market data and offer actionable measures not otherwise regularly reported on in the industry.
“Understanding past and future market conditions – in cities of traveler origin and destination – will help hotels adjust to and seize demand,” said David Millili, chief executive officer of Pegasus Solutions “The new reporting capabilities we’re introducing in the third quarter of 2014 will arm hoteliers with practical knowledge of both global and regional trends like channel performance, reservation volumes, rate growth, and stays on a level unavailable before now.”
Pegasus’ new Market Performance Analytics will be available to hotels and groups on a subscription basis.

EcoWave Occupancy-Based Wireless Unitary HVAC Controller
Date: March 20, 2014. Milwaukee, WI – The EcoWave™ occupancy-based wireless Unitary HVAC Controller from Telkonet Inc. is ideal for achieving the balance of energy efficiency and occupant comfort in fan coils, heat pumps, PTACs and other unitary equipment used in spaces with unpredictable occupancy, such as hotel rooms, dormitories, residence halls, assisted living, public housing and condominiums. It can be installed as a standalone controller or be networked with the ZigBee® based EcoSmart Intelligent Energy Management System for cloud-based total facility management. The EcoWave system is comprised of two hardware components: the EcoAir™ battery powered thermostat and the EcoSource™ HVAC controller, mounted at the HVAC unit. The EcoAir wireless display thermostat can be placed in the optimum location for temperature measurement, occupancy detection and ease of use and samples 132 data points to maximize the efficiency of HVAC equipment. The EcoAir utilizes proprietary Recovery Time technology that allows the room temperature to drift for energy savings while the room is unoccupied, but returns to the occupant selected setpoint within a predefined number of minutes.
With operational voltage from 12-277AC without the need for external transformers and proportional control outputs, the EcoWave fits basic to complicated installations. Large internal data loggers record over 40 runtime metrics for measurement/verification and detailed analytics. A Current Transducer input measures and logs current flow. An external temperature input can monitor remote temperature and two dry contact pairs are available for door contacts or integration with BACnet® building controls.
Telkonet, a leading United States-based energy management technology provider, offers hardware, software and services to commercial customers worldwide. The EcoSmart suite of products, which includes EcoInsight and EcoWave intelligent thermostats, the EcoGuard energy management outlet and the EcoSwitch energy-efficient light switch can be deployed in most building environments to cut utility costs and enable remote monitoring and control using the EcoCentral management platform. Telkonet’s energy management products have the power to reduce energy consumption, minimize carbon footprints and help eliminate the need for the construction of new power plants.
