Purchasing pros looking to simplify their lives while saving time and money for their hotel projects have been relying on Lodging Kit Company for 25 years. Lodging Kit ensures their product filled kits arrive at the specific day and time selected by the hotel owner, eliminating headaches and guaranteeing peace of mind while speeding up the entire install process by making it faster and easier.

In 2013 alone, Lodging Kit created 625 different kit configurations containing a total of 39,140 different SKU’s in 2013.

One recent marquee project Lodging Kit assisted with was the dual branded Courtyard New York Manhattan/Central Park and Residence Inn, billed as the tallest ground-up hotel in the Western Hemisphere.

Rising 760 feet—the maximum supportable height from its 100 foot x 100 foot base--the 68-story tower, costing $320 million to build, combines a 378-room Courtyard hotel on floors 6 to 33 and a 261-suite Residence Inn hotel on floors 37 to 65. The sheer size of this project, plus the lack of space available to accept deliveries on busy Manhattan streets, made Lodging Kit the perfect solution for hotel owners Interstate Hotels & Resorts.

Jim Thompson, Sr. Vice President, Purchasing with Interstate says the company has a long lasting relationship with Interstate that’s lasted for more than a dozen years.

“Every hotel is different and their advantage is they can consolidate everything and control deliveries to property for time and labor savings,” says Thompson, explaining they got involved early in the project. “They had tons of samples sent in, we selected everything we wanted and Lodging Kit gathered it up for us, combined, consolidated it and delivered it.”

For Linda Gandel, Corporate Purchasing Manager at REIT Management & Research, LLC, Sonesta International Hotels, Lodging Kit was a critical resource as the company converted 21 hotels into Sonesta ES Suites hotels in less than six months. Sixteen of which were full renovations, making the entire project even more complicated.

“We needed to rebrand these properties as soon as possible. So you could imagine the amount of labor it would take to receive, distribute and take care of breakage from each vendor sending things in. Instead Lodging Kit did it all and we got just a single bill because they took care of everything,” says Gandel, who says working with Lodging Kit saved Sonesta at least 40 percent in labor costs.

“They kit every room and they take items from 10 suppliers or more and put it into one or two clearly labeled boxes per room. It was so fast we were literally looking at outfitting 100 rooms in a day,” continues Gandel. “There is a thought Lodging Kit is just for timeshare and extended stay but this a great solution for all types of renovations that can be applied to any type of hospitality situation. Plus with our renovations getting pushed back sometimes three or four days, they are flexible enough to make sure deliveries arrive when we need them.”
