Hospitality Advisory & Asset Management

Richard Pastorino, Principal of REVPAR International, is pleased to announce that Julie Halstead has joined REVPAR International as a Vice President in their Washington, D.C./Alexandria, VA office. "It is a pleasure to welcome Julie to REVPAR International. She brings over 25 years of diverse experience." said Mr. Pastorino. "We hope to leverage off of Julie’s deep and well respected roots in the hospitality advisory and asset management industry to collectively expand both her’s and the firm’s reach across the country.”

Most recently, Julie was working independently as a hotel advisor and asset manager for a select group of clients where she executed on market positioning, project management, hotel acquisitions, new development and asset improvement strategies. Projects included brand selection for new hotels to repositioning of older properties.

Julie spent 15 years with Marriott International at their corporate headquarters in Bethesda primarily in the Development Planning and Feasibility department, and the Finance and Marketing disciplines on a variety of assignments both in the U.S. and internationally. Prior to Marriott, Julie worked with a large multinational accounting firm, and a small entrepreneurial company in Dallas, Texas. Consistent with REVPAR’s practice of hiring people who have “hands on” operational experience, Julie started her hotel career at the historic Hotel Del Coronado and the Sheraton Harbor Island in San Diego, California.

At REVPAR International, Julie will be undertaking market and financial due diligence, valuation, strategic planning, investment decision analysis, asset management, operations analysis, litigation support, hotel operator selection, management contract/franchise negotiations, and market repositioning projects.

Julie earned her BA at Kalamazoo College and MBA at Michigan State University. She is fluent in Spanish and familiar with Portuguese, having lived in Argentina, Brazil and Mexico. Chris Cylke, Senior Vice President who heads REVPAR International’s Miami office said, “Julie’s expertise in the hotel industry and her knowledge of the Latin American markets will help us further penetrate that part of world which has seen significant growth of their respective hotel industries.”

Julie is a member of several professional organizations including: NEWH where she serves on the Sustainable Plan Committee, Michigan State University’s Real Estate Advisory Board, and
Leadership Montgomery. She is also a founding member of the Board of Directors of Poolesville Green, a non-profit educational organization launched in 2010 in her community to create greater sustainability.

About REVPAR International
REVPAR International is one of the industry's best known full-service advisory and asset management firms exclusively dedicated to the hospitality and tourism industries. Established in 1992, REVPAR has over 20 years of successful service to the international hospitality industry, on a wide variety of advisory and asset management projects conducted throughout the United States, Caribbean, Latin America, Europe, and Asia.

Their services cover all hospitality-related assets from hotels and resorts to conference centers, restaurants, spas, marinas, and golf courses and are geared towards helping the stakeholder maximize returns while minimizing the three primary risks – market, financial and management – of a commercial real estate investor in general and a hospitality real estate investor in particular.

The company is highly regarded for the quality of its due diligence services where the research is the basis of their conclusions and advice rather than the “been there, done that” opinion of the consultant. REVPAR’s outstanding reputation has attracted a clientele that includes many of the most prominent hotel owners and investors in the industry, from private equity to sovereign wealth funds.

The majority of REVPAR’s assignments come from repeat clients who appreciate the depth of knowledge of markets served and disciplined nature of the research techniques and financial due diligence provided by the team of professionals.
