The Montserrat Development Corporation (MDC) is very pleased to announce the selection of Cheryl Andrews Marketing Communications (CAMC) to manage our global public relations operations and help us promote investment opportunities and economic growth throughout Montserrat,” said Ivan Browne, CEO of the MDC. “After an extensive review, and on-island meetings, the choice of this established, innovative agency was obvious. We are looking forward to partnering with the entire team to develop and implement strategic and results-oriented campaigns that will strengthen Montserrat’s rebirth as a destination of choice in the Caribbean.”

The MDC, established in 2007 by the Government of Montserrat and reconstituted in 2012, is in charge of promoting economic growth and re-establishing Montserrat as a self-sustaining and thriving economic, commercial and destination presence in the Caribbean. As part of its mandate, the MDC recently introduced a Master Plan for development and investment, including the creation of a new capital city.

With nearly three decades of experience, CAMC is South Florida’s largest public relations firm specializing in travel and tourism, luxury and lifestyle markets. No stranger to Montserrat’s unique tourism product, CAMC served as the agency of record for the destination’s tourism board from 2005 to 2011.

“We are delighted to be forging such an important relationship with the MDC and expand the services previously offered. We know the destination, believe we understand its needs and can get the job done efficiently and effectively, which are just a few of the core components to our ongoing success with the client,” said President Cheryl Andrews. “Adding to the depth of our services is a testament to our team’s hard work, dedication and creative communications strategy. We look forward to helping grow both visitors and tourism investment for this classically beautiful island nation.”

The agency developed a new strategic program following a formal RFP distributed by the MDC in November 2013. The new program expands the agency’s public relations efforts with investor relations, digital services, events, promotions and media relations in the global marketplace.
