Hilton Waikoloa Village – the 62-acre oceanfront resort on the Kohala Coast of Hawaii – welcomes three new members to the sales team, Jane Mato as director of national accounts – West, Karen Rudd as director of national accounts – Midwest, and Jonathan Clausen as director of leisure sales – Far East transient and domestic wholesale.

Jane Mato’s industry involvement includes positions on the Board of Directors for MPI Southern California Chapter and experience as an account director at The Line Hotel, Los Angeles. Additionally, Mato handled sales at the AAA Five Diamond L’Ermitage Beverly Hills and multiple positions within Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Mato will concentrate on the West Coast accounts from Wyoming to California in addition to targeting technology as a vertical market.

Karen Rudd joins the Hawaii based team with an extensive background in sales, most recently serving as national sales director for Peabody Orlando where she was awarded the 2010 Sales Manager of the Year. With nearly 15 years of hospitality sales experience, including a position as assistant director of sales at Hilton Orlando at Lake Buena Vista, Rudd’s coverage blankets the Midwest from Ohio to Kansas and will also include incentive houses.

Jonathan Clausen, who has previously worked for Hilton Hawaii and Hilton Grand Vacations Club in Honolulu, will target all wholesale markets including Asia, where he has successfully developed and maintained positive relationships with Japanese, Chinese and Korean travel wholesalers. During his time at Starwood Waikiki, Clausen was recognized as Sales Manager of Year in 2011 for North America division of Starwood Hotels.

Mato, Rudd and Clausen join Robert Korin, director of national accounts – East, and Jan Tucker, director of national accounts – recently deployed to cover South markets, in servicing the many groups Hilton Waikoloa works with around the nation. Hilton Waikoloa Village’s dynamic sales team also includes Rick Nagaoka, director of group sales; Russ Kembel, director of industry relations; Ben Kekuna, senior sales manager covering Midwest and South markets; Angela Naehu, senior sales manager covering the North East Market and Eastern Canada; and Alanna Blackwel, sales manager covering West, and Western Canada markets.

The award-winning Hilton Waikoloa Village is a 62-acre Pacific playground and alluring destination unto itself. The resort offers island hospitality with 1,240 beautifully appointed guest rooms and beautiful vistas of Waiulua Bay. Amenities include three fresh-water swimming pools; an ocean-fed snorkeling lagoon; waterfalls and waterways; locally inspired treatments at the Kohala Spa; the Dolphin Quest educational center; nine dining outlets; a Museum Walkway; the Club Keiki children's program; Legends of Hawaii Luau; an 18-hole seaside putting course and an expansive tennis complex. Hilton Waikoloa Village and Waikoloa Beach Resort are gateways to cultural immersion, engaging travelers in the area's rich history through such interactive cultural entertainment as hula and ukulele lessons and historic Petroglyph tours. Adventures within Waikoloa Beach Resort range from two championship golf courses to world-class shopping and activities at Queens' Marketplace and Kings' Shops.
