The renowned Hilton San Francisco Union Square today announced it is beginning a full renovation of 575 rooms and suites including the addition of 37 more keys. The addition will bring the hotel’s total inventory to 1919. This is the second phase of a major enhancement project for the hotel which began in 2012 with the renovation of rooms, suites, and meeting space in Tower 3. This current project is scheduled for completion in April 2015.
“The first phase of room renovations received exceptional feedback from our guests and we are excited to continue to improve our accommodations with the launch of the enhancement project in Tower 1,” said Michael Dunne, general manager, Hilton San Francisco Union Square. “Our diverse clientele, including business travelers and leisure travelers will truly enjoy the added comfort and amenities that these modernized rooms will offer.”
The refreshed rooms, offering great views of the San Francisco skyline, will feature a minimalist, contemporary design with dark woods and cool, ocean-inspired colors that reflect the air of this “City by the Bay.” Major enhancements will include installation of new entry doors and sound-proofing wall insulation as well as new telecommunication equipment incorporating both wired and wireless Internet access and other added conveniences of home such as sleek furniture, plush beds, mini-refrigerators, and contemporary bathrooms with black tile accents and modern fixtures.
Located in the heart of downtown San Francisco, Hilton San Francisco Union Square offers easy access to Nob Hill, Chinatown and fantastic shopping, dining and entertainment at Union Square. This grand hotel is one of the largest on the West Coast offering 1,908 guest rooms in three towers and 134,500 square feet of meetings and special events space, including 73 meeting rooms and an opulent 30,000 sq. ft. Grand Ballroom that occupies an entire floor and can accommodate up to 3,200 guests. For the ultimate home-away-from-home experience, the hotel features a fully-equipped, modern fitness center, an outdoor heated swimming pool and whirlpool, and the Urban Tavern restaurant, a modern Gastro Pub offering an exciting menu and a lively atmosphere.
The final phase of the comprehensive hotel enhancements is currently planned for 2016 and will include renovations of 350 sleeping rooms and suites in Tower 2.
