Room Mate Hotels has unveiled its newest design-driven hotel, Room Mate Aitana, located on the IJ River in the heart of Amsterdam. The opening of Aitana reinforces the hotel brand’s commitment to providing guests affordable luxury with a stylish, cutting edge design in an idyllic location. Room Mate Hotels currently has two properties in the United States - Room Mate Grace in New York and Room Mate Waldorf in Miami Beach.

“We are excited to bring the Room Mate Hotels philosophy to one of the most magical cities in Europe,” says Enrique “Kike” Sarasola, President and Founder of Room Mate Hotels. “As with all of our hotels, guests of Room Mate Aitana will feel like they are visiting a chic friend who just happens to have amazing style and live in the best location that city has to offer.”

Designed by acclaimed Dutch Architect Jan Bakers and Spanish interior designer Tomas Alia, the 13-story Room Mate Aitana is situated on the IJ Dock, a manmade island quickly becoming one of Amsterdam’s most popular areas, located minutes from the trendy Jordaan district. The hotel boasts 284 meticulously-designed guestrooms and suites; seven meeting rooms accommodating small and large scale events; a restaurant managed by Vitam, the well-known Dutch restaurant group; and a lounge offering a variety of wines and cocktails; a business center; top-of-the-line fitness facilities; a marina with a capacity for 60 moorings; and complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the entire hotel.

Each oversized guestroom and suite features a bright, contemporary design in the color palettes of cool blues, neutral browns and deep greens, and expansive windows offer striking views of central Amsterdam. Room Mate Aitana is located adjacent to the Palace of Justice, and within walking distance of many of city’s most popular attractions, restaurants, nightlife, and the Amsterdam Central Station.

Over the next two years, Room Mate Hotels will launch 10 new properties in fashionable destinations around the world including Istanbul, Rotterdam, Milan, Roman, Bogota and will add new hotels to cities such as Barcelona and New York.
