Recently, the Department of Commerce’s Office of Travel & Tourism Industry (OTTI) released estimated international visitation to the United States and Orlando. According to OTTI, Orlando welcomed nearly 4.3 million international travelers last year.
“We are pleased with the strength of our destination with international visitors. We recognize the significant contribution to our local economy that these international guests provide in terms of length of stay and overall spending,” said George Aguel, president & CEO of Visit Orlando.

South America experienced the largest year-over-year increase of nearly 46%*. Brazil, Orlando’s No. 3 market, welcomed 639,000 visitors or just fewer than 50% of all South American travelers. Orlando’s No. 1 market, Canada, increased visitation to nearly 1.1 million. Visitation from Europe dipped slightly (-0.5%).
* In 2012 survey responses were up nine percent (9%) from 2011. This was also the largest number of responses collected since 1999.
