Beacon Hospitality Partners, the New York based specialist hotel asset manager, is pleased to confirm the completion of the acquisition of Hotel Eden Rome, by its London and Paris based teams. Whilst the economics of the transaction remain confidential, it will rank among the most significant single asset transactions in Europe for 2013.
Working with a professional team of fellow advisers from Dentons, Carnelutti and PwC; the Beacon team guided Dorchester Group Limited to the successful acquisition of the 121-room Hotel Eden from Starman Hotels. The Hotel will be managed by Dorchester Collection.
Occupying a superb hilltop location in the Eternal City, during its history the Eden earned an iconic status as a destination for dignitaries and celebrities. More recently, it achieved justifiable acclaim for its Michelin starred rooftop restaurant. However, Hotel Eden has seen increased competition in the luxury market over the past few years and so a comprehensive but sympathetic restoration is planned to secure Hotel Eden?s position at the forefront of the luxury hotel market in Rome.
Commenting on the transaction, Keith Lindsay, Principal at Beacon Hospitality, said: ?Supported by my colleagues, Jon Kurnit, Tom Huffsmith and Robert Walters, this has been a truly collaborative effort to close a complex transaction. Working with a most professional team, we have secured a superb asset for a distinguished client. Hotel Eden is an excellent addition to Dorchester Collection, which will be further enhanced through a careful restoration. In a difficult market, Beacon is pleased to have delivered one of the more significant transactions of the year in Europe; and continue to seek further opportunities for investment and alliance globally, both for Dorchester Group and other clients.
