To cater to the increasing number of travelers who come to New York City for more than a night or two, Affinia Hotels, a boutique hotel collection with five hotels in Manhattan, many with suites and kitchens, is teaming up with FreshDirect, a New York City based grocery delivery service to provide Affinia guests with ready-to-make-meals delivered to the hotel.
The new partnership, which launched today at Affinia Dumont and will be rolled out at the additional four New York City hotels this month, will enhance the collection’s fully equipped kitchens and kitchenettes; spacious rooms of up to 950 square feet, many with separate dining areas, and furnished outdoor patios and terraces, which are ideal for longer stays.
With the Business Kit and Healthy Kit, guests will have kitchens stocked with fruits and vegetables, Greek yogurt, chips, salsa and cookies. The kits are also equipped with a variety of four-minute meals and microwavable options including curried chicken salad and lemon-dill salmon.
These kits can be ordered in advance through Affinia’s online e-concierge service, at the time of booking, or at the hotel at any time during a stay. Starting at $50, this service is subject to taxes and delivery fees.
“Grocery delivery from FreshDirect gives our growing number of extended-stay guests, from international visitors and families to business travelers, the flexibility to eat in and stock their kitchens with items they want,” said Lisa Zandee, senior vice-president of brand management for Affinia Hotels. “It liberates them from the limitations of room-service, mini-bar and restaurant fare,” she added. “Our work with FreshDirect is part of our commitment to providing customized experiences for guests,” continued Zandee. “They feel at home with the convenience of quick snacks and easy-to-prepare meals, saving time and money so they can focus on the travel experience, be it business or leisure.”
Later this month, guests of Affinia Shelburne, Affinia Manhattan, Affinia 50 and Affinia Gardens will also be able to take advantage of this new service. The hotel collection is also developing kits that will be locally sourced.
