Travel agents in the United States and Canada have a new and improved resource to help boost their knowledge of Orlando. Orlando Travel Academy is an online tool that provides education on all aspects of Orlando, with the goal of helping agents expand their knowledge of the destination and enhance their ability to help their customer base.

“Travel agents play an important role in selling Orlando and helping travelers get the most fun, memories and value out of their visit,” said Danielle Courtenay, chief marketing officer of Visit Orlando. “The updated Orlando Travel Academy uses full audio commentary to bring the destination to life in a dynamic way.”

Orlando Travel Academy (orlandotravelacademy.com) features seven chapters designed to increase travel agents’ knowledge of Orlando and help them provide value to their clients, especially those representing the following markets: families, couples, mature, luxury, African American, Hispanic, LGBT and business. Upon completion of the program, Orlando Travel Academy graduates receive the designation of “Orlando Travel Expert,” as well as earn four continuing education credits from The Travel Institute, an organization that provides education programs, professional certifications and customized learning solutions for travel professionals. Graduates also qualify for a variety of exclusive benefits, including:

             • Listing in “Travel Agent Lookup” widget featured on Visit Orlando’s consumer
                website (VisitOrlando.com)
             • Agent-only exclusive deals offered in the Visit Orlando Travel Agent Passport
             • Entry into a drawing to participate in a Visit Orlando-hosted Familiarization tour

Currently available in English, the Orlando Travel Academy will be offered in Spanish, Portuguese and French in the future.
More information on specific resources for travel professionals, including collateral, sales aids and itinerary planners can be found on Visit Orlando’s travel trade site, VisitOrlando.com/trade.
