The Austin Convention and Visitors Bureau (ACVB) is pleased to announce and welcome Amy Brown as Director of Northeast Regional Sales and Shilpa Bakre as Senior Communications Manager. Brown and Bakre joined the ACVB team on February 4th, each with more than a decade of experience in their respective departments.
In her new role, Brown will oversee accounts throughout the Northeast region of the United States. “Amy’s extensive sales background comes at an ideal time as Austin’s convention bookings are greatly on the rise,” says Steve Genovesi, Senior Vice President, Sales.

“Shilpa’s diverse background within the public relations field makes her an ideal candidate for ACVB as Austin continues to experience tremendous growth as a destination,” explains Julie Chase, Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. Bakre’s tenure includes managing public relations for The Austin Museum of Art, extensive work with the United States Olympic Committee, and procuring an Emmy for her role as an associate producer/writer for NBC.

ACVB is also proud to announce the promotion of Mary Kay Hackley as Vice President, Strategic Alliances, Julie Chase to Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer and Julie Hart to Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
