The DoubleTree by Hilton Spokane City Center earned the prestigious Green Seal™ Certification - Bronze in recognition of its sustainability and recycling programs, making it the first hotel in Eastern Washington to achieve Green Seal™ certification status and only one of four hotels within the state to have this distinction.
Green Seal™, Inc. presented the award after the hotel successfully met the environmental requirements under the GS-33 Standard for Hotels & Lodging Properties. In order to qualify, the hotel had to demonstrate sustainable practices in over 20 specific areas including waste minimization, reuse and recycling; energy efficiency and conservation; water resource management; and environmentally sensitive purchasing.

We are proud to be the first hotel in Spokane County to commercially compost food through a locally-based organic processing facility. Now that we have reached the first level of Green Seal, we will continue to work towards earning our Silver status in the coming year. Our efforts will not stop as we take extra steps to inform our guests about our environmental commitment and engage them to participate at a higher level of sustainability, which we know they will appreciate.”
