Expedia Appoints Christopher Michau as Vice President of its Global Partner Group

Paris, France – November 30, 2012 – The Expedia, Inc. group, the world’s largest online travel company, today announced the appointment of Christopher Michau as Vice President of its Global Partner Group, a division within Expedia® Lodging Partner Services responsible for managing the group’s relationships with some of the world’s leading hotel companies. In this new role, Michau will lead an experienced team of account managers responsible for working with global hotel chains and key accounts to maximize their exposure on the more than 140 travel sites available under the Expedia, Inc. group.

Michau and his team are also responsible for collaborating with hotel companies on implementing several important Expedia-driven initiatives, including Expedia® Traveller Preference, a program designed to better serve travellers by offering them the choice of how and when to pay for their hotel bookings made on Expedia and Hotels.com® sites.

In his expanded role, Michau also now oversees the Industry Relations group whose primary focus is on fostering affinity for Expedia, Inc. among industry trade and supply audiences in the EMEA and APAC regions.

Michau joined Expedia as a Market Manager more than a decade ago, and since then has held several positions within the company’s partner-facing organization. Most recently Michau served as the Senior Director of Global Strategic Accounts where he oversaw the development and expansion of Expedia’s partnerships with hotel chains.
