Speed Queen, a leading provider of commercial laundry equipment, announced today that its on-premises tumble dryer line has been upgraded with technologies that will help extend linen life, increase throughput and energy efficiency.
The stack 30 and 45-pound tumble dryers are now available with Over-dry Prevention Technology (OPT). The single cylinder 25-55-pound tumble dryers, already equipped with OPT, are now available with reversing technology.
“Speed Queen is committed to providing customers with the tools they need to run a more profitable operation,” said Dan Bowe, National Sales Manager for Speed Queen’s commercial division. “By increasing throughput and reducing energy consumption, the upgraded tumblers will contribute to the bottom line.”
Both technologies are available through Speed Queen’s Quantum™ controls.
Over-dry Prevention Technology precisely controls the level of dryness to help sustain the integrity of premium materials, reducing fiber loss as much as 31 percent.
Baffles are used as sensors and provide pinpoint moisture readings throughout the entire load. When the tumbler has reached its preset level of dryness, it shuts off automatically. This technology helps lower linen replacement costs and eliminates inefficient use of energy.
Reversing technology allows the dryer cylinder to alternate directions preventing large items such as, sheets or tablecloths from knotting and twisting. The reverse action provides a consistent and even dry. With this latest innovation, employees will no longer need to run additional dry cycles, leading to an increase in throughput and further energy cost reductions.
