The Embassy Suites Denver - Downtown/Convention Center is pleased to announce that Ed Blair has been appointed and is now serving as General Manager.

Denver-based Sage Hospitality, an established leader in hotel management, development and ownership, announced last month that it had acquired the management contract for the 403-room convention center hotel.

Blair has worked for Sage Hospitality since 2004, serving as the General Manager of The Oxford Hotel, an award-winning 80-room historic hotel and spa in the heart of Denver’s LoDo neighborhood. Prior to that, he spent 12 years working for Marriott International.

Blair has strong ties to the Denver community. He is a member of Denver’s Road Home, the commission to end homelessness in Denver by 2015, and a member of the Business Advisory Council for Denver’s Road to Work. As part of that program, Blair was instrumental in the hiring and training of 15 people who were formerly homeless to work at The Oxford Hotel. He is also the Vice Chair of the Downtown Denver Business Improvement District’s Board of Directors. A graduate of the University of Colorado, he previously served as Associate Pastor at the NorthPoint Covenant Church in Broomfield, Colorado.

“We are thrilled to have Ed leading the Embassy Suites Denver – Downtown, which is currently the No. 1 Denver hotel on TripAdvisor,” said Jim Darter, Senior Vice President of the Full Service Division.  “With more than 20 years of hospitality leadership experience, we’re confident that Ed can help take this already popular hotel to the next level in terms of sales, operating performance and community leadership.”

The Embassy Suites Denver – Downtown/Convention Center is a Silver LEED certified all-suite hotel.  The lobby features a 14-story sky curtain and aspen tree accents along the walls.  As a part of Hilton’s Embassy Suites brand, the hotel offers complimentary breakfast for guests each morning as well as a hosted Manager’s Reception every evening.   The hotel’s 22,500 square feet of spectacular meeting space offers 14 venues that can host up to 650 people.
The hotel is across the street from the Colorado Convention Center and in walking distance to Denver’s 16th Street Mall, Larimer Square, Denver Center for Performing Arts, the Pepsi Center and LoDo district.
