Officials of Island Hospitality Management, LLC, one of the nation’s largest hotel management companies, today announced that Michele Mainelli, an eight-year company veteran, has been promoted to vice president of revenue management.

With 20 years of experience in the travel industry, Mainelli joined Island Hospitality in 2004 from the Marriott International Reservation Center.  During her tenure with the company, she has overseen revenue management functions for Island’s owned and operated hotels and earned Starwood’s Revenue Leader of the Year award in 2008.  In her new capacity, she will be responsible for annual and monthly forecasting, budgeting market share and revenue targets, pricing trends, brand initiatives and the RFP process for the company’s 80- hotel portfolio, including Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt and Starwood brands.

“Michele’s business intelligence, award winning background in revenue management as well her knowledge of Island’s direct sales culture made her the obvious candidate to lead our revenue management efforts,” said Jeff Waldt, Island’s senior vice president of sales and marketing.
“Revenue management is an increasingly important discipline that requires an experienced hand at the wheel,” said Tim Walker, Island Hospitality’s president.  “Michele’s revenue management expertise and company knowledge, coupled with her broader industry insight, gives her the kind of perspective needed to guide hotels through changing market conditions and varying economic cycles.  Our hotels gained market share during the economic downturn, and we were among the first to start capitalizing on opportunities to accelerate ADR.  Michele will continue to build on those hard-won gains as the economy gains momentum and the industry more fully recovers.”
