National conference focused on the economy and mid-scale U.S. hotel tiers will be held on Thursday, September 29 at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Georgia.

U.S. Hotel Appraisals will host its second-annual hospitality conference on Thursday, September 29, at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Georgia. The conference is dedicated to helping economy and mid-scale hotel owners, lenders, investors, managers, and other stakeholders connect with each other, make deals, and improve the performance of their hotels.

The conference will feature Hotel Interactive®’s Editor Beth Kormanik who will be moderating a panel entitled “Hotel Financing - Today's Environment" The panel will investigate who has the money and how to access capital.

“We’ve seen the number of distressed sales decrease this year compared with the number of new builds and hotel transactions between willing buyers and sellers,” said U.S. Hotel Appraisals’ Managing Partner Russ Rivard. “This is an indication that originating loans are being offered up after years of a lending market that was all but clamped shut. How do developers, brokers, and owners make their case to lenders? How can lenders get the most out of their loans? These are questions we wanted to take on at this year’s hospitality conference.”

“Atlanta serves as an ideal spot for this year’s conference in part because the Atlanta Metro hotel market has been so dynamic over the past 18 months,” said Managing Director Mike Brophy. “Hotel demand and occupancy shot upward in 2010, and average rates are beginning to rebound in 2011. The Atlanta market is also poised for one of its best convention years in 2012. Hotel transactions and new development are gaining strength, and our 2011 conference provides a forum for hoteliers from the Atlanta region and beyond to talk to people and hear ideas that can move them forward.”

Teague Hunter—President, Hunter Realty
