With a history of revolutionizing the hotel sleeping experience through new, innovative mattress designs, Simmons Hospitality Bedding (“Simmons”) continues this trend with the launch of the ComforPedic LoftTM mattress collection at this week’s 2010 Hospitality Design Exposition and Conference in Las Vegas. The ComforPedic Loft collection’s unique design allows Simmons to offer the heat dissipation, quicker recovery and consistent comfort benefits of next generation memory foam technology to the hospitality market at a price most hotels can afford.
“Traditionally, hotels have viewed memory foam mattresses as too expensive to install—especially for larger properties. Other hotels have been reluctant to feature foam beds because of how divided people are about how standard memory foam feels—they either love it, or they hate it,” said Steve Tipton, vice president of Simmons Hospitality Bedding. “The ComforPedic Loft collection tackles both of these issues. The line’s NxG? Memory Foam is specifically engineered to be affordable while addressing some of the common complaints we hear about regular memory foam technology.”
The NxG Memory Foam in ComforPedic Loft mattresses incorporates an open cell structure that allows air to pass through the foam while still providing the support the body needs during the night. Thanks to this special design, NxG Memory Foam dissipates heat to keep guests at their ideal sleeping temperatures and responds quickly to body movements, which helps eliminate the “quicksand” feeling often associated with standard memory foam. In addition, the foam’s proprietary formulation maintains consistent comfort from the moment it arrives to help eliminate break-in periods and reduce changes in feel due to temperature fluctuations. The beds also include a layer of Suspension Support Foam to enhance the benefits of the NxG Memory Foam layer.
Select ComforPedic Loft models have Contour-Flex? Edge Support for contouring comfort to the edge of the mattress and added support while sitting. Three models also feature patent-pending Evenloft? stretch-knit fabric designs, which create a smooth sleeping surface and help guests better experience the superior comfort of NxG Memory Foam.
“Simmons spent over a year developing NxG Memory Foam technology with the goal of making this particular combination of comfort benefits available at a lower price point,” said Tipton. “With ComforPedic Loft, we’re enabling hotels to diversify their bedding offerings so they can appeal to a broader range of consumer preferences without incurring a completely outrageous cost. Memory foam is now a feasible option for the hospitality industry.”
